For over 35 years, the Young Leaders Council (YLC) has been a driving force in developing the next generation of nonprofit leaders in our community. Founded in 1985 by the Council of Community Services, in partnership with the Frist Foundation (formerly the HCA Foundation) and the United Way, this 501(c)(3) organization has equipped thousands of young professionals with the skills and experience needed to make a lasting impact.

YLC's comprehensive programming consists of a series of eleven interactive training sessions that cover fundamental board skills. Participants, who are typically between 25 and 40 years old, represent a diverse range of corporate, civic, and volunteer backgrounds. After completing the training, each YLC member embarks on a one-year internship with a nonprofit community organization, serving as a non-voting member of the organization's working board.

To capture the energy and impact of this transformative program, YLC partnered with Mazzo Media to create a compelling video that was presented at their annual Leadership Luncheon. The Mazzo Media team leveraged their expertise to film dynamic b-roll footage and gather heartfelt video testimonials from YLC alumni. They also designed engaging animated graphics to further bring the YLC story to life.

Through this hands-on experience and the powerful visual narrative, YLC participants gain invaluable leadership skills while expanding their professional networks. Over the years, more than 3,000 young professionals have gone through the YLC program, using the knowledge and connections they've built to drive the growth, sustainability, and success of hundreds of local nonprofits.

Today, YLC alumni continue to shape our community as board leaders, leveraging their expertise to create positive change. As YLC looks to the future, it remains steadfast in its mission to train the next generation of nonprofit champions.
